Batboy gets his moment

SAN FRANCISCO - Cameron Hansen's five seconds of fame were totally embarrassing at first, but, a day later, he could smile.

SAN FRANCISCO - Cameron Hansen's five seconds of fame were totally embarrassing at first, but, a day later, he could smile.

Hansen, a batboy for the visiting teams at AT&T Park, slipped and fell when retrieving Shane Victorino's bat in the first inning Thursday. His fall was replayed over and over again on national sports networks and the Internet. He'll now adorn blooper videos forever.

But he could laugh about it. So could Victorino, who signed a printed frame grab from the original TV broadcast: "To Cameron: Slow down . . . wet grass."

"I was shocked," Victorino said. "I was like, 'What just happened?' " - Matt Gelb
