Those details were contained in the terms of his deal that was filed Thursday with Major League Baseball and the players' association.
The deal was so complicated it includes three separate agreements: a playing contract, a marketing deal, and an agreement to enter a $10 million, 10-year, personal-services agreement after the playing contract's expiration or Pujols' retirement, whichever is later.
Including all three agreements, Pujols could make up to $268.75 million over 20 years. His average salary matches that of Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee for third highest among current players, behind Alex Rodriguez and Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard ($25 million).
The Oakland Athletics re-signed outfielder Coco Crisp to a $14 million, two-year contract. The Los Angeles Dodgers re-signed reliever Mike MacDougal to a $1 million, one-year contract with a club option for 2013.
