Robles was designated for assignment by Seattle earlier this month when the Mariners signed former All-Star outfielder Jason Bay.

The Phillies announced that nine other players will go to spring training as nonroster invitees: infielders Michael Martinez, Pete Orr, Josh Fields and Andres Blanco; catchers Steven Lerud and Humberto Quintero; righthanded pitcher Zach Miner, lefthander Cesar Jimenez and outfielder Jermaine Mitchell.
