Injury updates on Herndon, Brown, Biddle

ATLANTA — A few injury tidbits on this Wednesday:

- David Herndon has a right flexor pronator strain and will not throw for at least three weeks. The Phillies do not believe he is a candidate for surgery, assistant general manager Scott Proefrock said. Herndon is in Clearwater, Fla.

- Domonic Brown strained his left hamstring Wednesday morning in a triple-A game. The team has termed his injury as "day-to-day." Brown is hitting .253 with a .629 OPS for Lehigh Valley.

- Pitching prospect Jesse Biddle was removed from his Tuesday start after two batters because he was struck by a line drive on his left forearm. Proefrock said Biddle did not need X-rays and the decision to remove him was "precautionary." He should make his next start as scheduled.
