Outfield options dwindling for Phillies after Diamondbacks sign Cody Ross

According to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News, outfielder Cody Ross has reached an agreement with the Diamondbacks on a three-year contract, which is not good for Ruben Amaro Jr. and the Phillies, who are reportedly still looking for an outfielder.

Ross, who made $3 million in 2012, will earn $26 million of the life of his deal, which includes a club option for 2016, according to Jim Bowden of ESPN.com.

The signing of Ross could open the door for another move, however. The Diamondbacks outfield already consists of Justin Upton, Jason Kubel, and Gerardo Parra. After adding Ross, Arizona could look to trade one of their other outfielders, and Justin Upton's name has already been floated out as a potential target for the Phillies.

If Amaro is indeed looking to add an outfielder via free agency, his options are certainly dwindling. Here's a look at the 101 available free agents from around the league (x-signing club, if different, would lose draft pick; outfielders in bold):
