Phillies begin season in Cincinnati with this lineup

CINCINNATI — The Phillies will begin their 135th season Monday afternoon at Great American Ballpark with a lineup that manager Pete Mackanin hopes to use often in the season's first few months.

There are no surprises in his first batting order, which will oppose Reds righthander Scott Feldman. Here it is:

1. Cesar Hernandez 2B
2. Howie Kendrick LF
3. Odubel Herrera CF
4. Maikel Franco 3B
5. Michael Saunders RF
6. Tommy Joseph 1B
7. Cameron Rupp C
8. Freddy Galvis SS
9. Jeremy Hellickson P

The weather forecast is not ideal, but it looks like there is a window for the game to be played as scheduled. There's always a window. If they cannot play today, the game will be rescheduled for Tuesday, which is a built-in off day in case of weather problems.

Jerad Eickhoff will face lefthander Brandon Finnegan in Wednesday's second game, with Clay Buchholz against the aptly named Rookie Davis, a rookie making his major-league debut, in Thursday's matinee finale.
