Phillies Minor League Report: Destin Hood drives in six runs for Reading

Here's how the Phillies' minor-league teams fared on Wednesday, Aug. 19:
Lehigh Valley IronPigs – Triple A
The IronPigs managed to post nine hits against Scranton, but could push only one runner across the plate in a 2-1 loss to the RailRiders.
Brian Bogusevic came up with the only run for Lehigh via a solo home run in the third inning, but the rest of the offense could not muster up any mojo. Despite the nine hits, only four runners made it past first base.
Anthony Vasquez took the loss, despite pitching well. He went 6 2/3 innings and gave up two runs, but just one was earned. He permitted five hits and walked three.
The two teams will play again on Thursday at 7:05 p.m.
Reading Fightin Phils – Double-A
Reading is easily the hottest team in the Phillies organization right now, and the Fightin Phils kept to their ways with a 12-6 win over New Hampshire. The Fightin Phils rattled off 17 hits in the victory.
Destin Hood had the biggest night at the plate for Reading. He went 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI. His average climbed to .290.
Zach Eflin improved to 7-6 thanks to a large cushion from his offense. He didn't have the greatest game on the mound, going six innings and giving up four runs, but it was enough for the win.
Reading and New Hampshire will be back at it at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday.
Clearwater Threshers – Class A-Advanced
The Threshers used 12 hits to defeat the Dunedin Blue Jays, 6-2, at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.
