Game's in the bag for Nets fan

HERE'S A LAUGHER:

Nets CEO Brett Yormark got upset at a fan who wore a paper bag on his head to Monday night's 99-89 loss to Miami.

Photos all over the Internet show Yormark pointing in disgust at Chris Lisi, of Middletown, N.J., a Nets fan who actually paid money to see a team currently making a run for the distinction of being the worst in the history of the NBA.

An Associated Press report said Yormark asked Lisi why he needed the bag, to which Lisi sarcastically replied, "Because the Nets are so good," inciting Yormark to snap. Lisi then held up his tickets as if to say, "Dude, chill out, I paid for this debacle," at which time Yormark walked away.

Yesterday, Yormark told the AP that despite frustrations he will continue to support his organization. Which, of course, is his job. Conversely, we always thought the job of a fan is to let owners know when they are embarrassed to be a fan. Especially when they are shelling out hard-earned cash to see their favorite team stink up the joint.

Basically, if fans are actually still milling into the Izod Center to watch a team that is 7-63 overall, short of showing up naked, they should wear whatever they want.

Did anyone notice . . .

* That ESPN switched to the Xavier-Vanderbilt women's game midway through the first half of Temple's second-round NCAA game against undefeated Connecticut? UConn held a 55-12 edge at intermission and won 90-36.

* That CBS will not be airing either the Northern Iowa or Saint Mary's games on Friday in our area? Instead we'll get the Ohio State-Tennessee and Duke-Purdue tilts. Come on. As an underdog town, CBS should know what we want to see, regardless of how destroyed our brackets may be as a result of those two still dancin.'

* That it's possible the Union's Roger Torres and Michael Orozco could have been separated at birth? They even share the same jacked-up haircuts.
