IS CHINA THE NEXT stop for Allen Iverson?
Gary Moore, Iverson's personal manager, told the Associated Press yesterday that a team in China has expressed "legitimate interest" in A.I.
Moore said the team contacted Iverson last month.
Moore said he doesn't know the team's name.
What he does know is there haven't been any NBA teams knocking at the Answer's door.
"We're very astonished, to say the least, that not one team has contacted us with any interest," Moore told AP. "I just don't understand it. What has Allen Iverson done to not warrant interest in him?"
Geez. There's not enough time or space in this column to answer that question.
Iverson's agent, Leon Rose, did not comment on the story.
In case you're wondering:
Yes, they do have T.G.I. Friday's in China.
Giant problem
Fans generally liked what they saw once they got inside New Meadowlands Stadium to watch the Giants host the Panthers on Sunday.
It was the entering-and-leaving part that gave some problems.
According to NewJersey.com, fans not yet accustomed to the new landscape walked along narrow exit ramps and climbed fences to get to the stadium.
One stood on a table he borrowed from a tailgater and still couldn't get over a 7-foot high fence.
"What is this - Berlin?!" he screamed.
His friend, already on the other side, had a different perspective . . . and question.
"Now how am I going to get you home?" he said.
Nit-wit signs
Three signs seen on College Day Live before Saturday's Penn State at Alabama game:
"Betty White thinks JoePa is sexy . . . for an old guy."
"Jesus is in JoePa's yearbook."
"JoePa fathered each member of the cast of Jersey Shore."
