PSSST, hey buddy, wanna buy Sixers tickets for 10 cents each?
Don't laugh.
According to Yahoo! Sports, you could have purchased a pair of tickets to Wednesday's Sixers-Pistons game at the Wells Fargo Center for a dime apiece on StubHub.
If you wanted to spend a little more, 17 other tickets to the game were priced at 40 cents each. That's a bargain even with service charges.
If you didn't get in on Wednesday's deal, don't fret. There are still scads of tickets for Sunday's Sixers-Cavaliers matchup priced from $1.72 on up.
And Philly isn't the only NBA city where tix are being offered at bargain-basement prices.
For example, tickets to Monday night's Magic-Hawks game in Atlanta can be had for a buck. There are similar prices for games involving the Kings, Bobcats, Hornets and Grizzlies.
"Pretty amazing that the prices have gone into the dumpster this quickly for some NBA teams," Will Flaherty of SeatGeek.com told Yahoo. "This was something we saw broadly across a few teams in the league last year, but not this early into the season."
Never mind
Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly is a busy guy. So we'll forgive him if he doesn't know that one of the most popular TV shows of all time is no longer on the air.
While talking with SiriusXM College Sports Nation, Kelly said he is only concentrating on this week's game against visiting Wake Forest. But, he said, if the Irish, who are third in the BCS standings, finish unbeaten along with first-place Kansas State and second-place Oregon, he will campaign to have his team in the national championship game.
"I'm just not good enough to be able to do both [right now]," Kelly said. "I'm challenged enough on a day-to-day basis to keep my guys focused on Wake Forest. The rest of the stuff, let's see how Notre Dame does. Let's take Wake Forest, see what happens there, and then USC. Then, if we get to the point after USC that we're undefeated, I'll go on 'Oprah' if I have to."
He will need a time machine. "Oprah" went off the air in May of 2011.
