The 76ers will introduce Sam Hinkie as their new general manager in a news conference Tuesday at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

On Friday, the Sixers reached a multiyear agreement with the Houston Rockets assistant general manager to become their GM and president of basketball operations.

Hinkie, 35, spent the last seven years with the Rockets working under general manager Daryl Morey. Hinkie is a proponent of the use of advanced statistics to build a roster.

The Rockets reached the playoffs as an eighth seed this season and were eliminated by Oklahoma City in the first round. They had missed the playoffs in the previous three seasons.

Hinkie's first order of business will be to find a coach to replace Doug Collins, who resigned at the end of the regular season. GM Tony DiLeo, who began the search for a coach, was not retained.
