Name Ht Wt Prior to NBA Yrs in NBA
Ben Simmons 6-10 250 LSU Rookie
Simmons has a chance to be a good player. He just needs to improve his shooting in today's NBA. But he has a good basketball IQ and a gifted ability to pass the ball.
Dario Saric 6-10 248 Anadolu Efes Rookie
Saric has a good basketball IQ , shows toughness and is a good rebounder. He will have to adjust to the NBA's athleticism. The Croatian is also a streaky shooter.
Robert Covington 6-9 225 Tenn. State 4th
Covington is a good outside shooter who has improved defensively. The Chicago native has good size for the small-forward position. He should benefit from playing with center Joel Embiid, who will demand double teams.
Jerami Grant 6-8 220 Syracuse 3rd
Grant is a versatile player. The athletic shot blocker doesn't have a true position. He's also a streaky shooter who adds energy.
Overall forward evaluation: Simmons is the only Sixers forward who would be a starter on a good team in the NBA. However, this is a very athletic group.
Centers
Joel Embiid 7-2 276 Kansas Rookie
Embiid is a talented big man who has a good future if he stays healthy. He must work to improve his overall game, but he's the best player on the team.
Jahlil Okafor 6-11 265 Duke 2nd
Okafor is a talented offensive player, but somewhat of a liability on defense. He must improve his conditioning and athleticism.
Nerlens Noel 6-11 228 Kentucky 3rd
Noel is a very good defender who is an athletic big man. It can be argued that he lacks a true position. But he's a tremendous shot blocker and recorder of steals.
Richaun Holmes 6-10 245 Bowling Green 2nd
Holmes is an athletic big man who can score inside and outside. He's still a raw project, but has a good upside.
Overall center evaluation: Embiid has a real chance to become a good player. He's a potential NBA all-star if he can stay healthy. It would be great if the Sixers could combine Okafor and Noel into one player. Okafor is talented at the offensive end, while Noel is exceptional at the defensive end. Holmes provides depth.
Guards
Gerald Henderson 6-5 215 Duke 8th
The former Episcopal Academy standout is an athletic guard who knows how the play the NBA game. He's good - but not great - at both ends of the floor.
Jerryd Bayless 6-3 210 Arizona 9th
Bayless is more of a combo guard. He's a good shooter when open, and a good role player.
Hollis Thompson 6-8 220 Georgetown 4th
Thompson is a good shooter. The Pasadena, Calif., native plays hard and has good intangibles. He's a solid backup.
T.J. McConnell 6-2 186 Arizona 2nd
McConnell shows leadership and toughness. The Pittsburgh native is an underrated scorer and a good passer and defender.
Sergio Rodriguez 6-3 175 Real Madrid 5th
Rodriguez has a very good feel for the game. The Spain native is a good passer, streaky shooter and will struggle to defend quicker guards.
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot 6-6 205 Mega Leks Rookie
Luwawu-Cabarrot is a good athlete who is not ready now for the NBA. He must improve his overall skill level. The France native could be a solid player down the road.
Nik Stauskas 6-6 215 Michigan 3rd
Although he has yet to live up to his hype, Stauskas does show flashes. But he is a streaky shooter and lacks confidence.
Overall guard evaluation: It can be argued that all of their guards are all backup players on a solid NBA team. This position need to improve.
