Former Syracuse guard Michael Carter-Williams would welcome being drafted by 76ers

CHICAGO – Syracuse point guard Michael Carter-Williams thinks the Sixers could be on the rise.

That's a good thing for the NBA draft prospect if you agree with's mock draft. The Sixers are likely to get the 11th pick in the June draft. And the website has them using it on the 6-foot-6 point guard.

Carter-Williams believes he has an interview scheduled with the franchise while here at the NBA draft combine.

"I'm just not 100 percent sure," he said.

Carter-Williams sounded like someone interested in having a role in the Sixers' rebuilding process.

"They have good young players," he said. "They have good young guards. … They are on the uprising. They are still trying to rebuild their team.

"And I think they could have a real good team in the future."

Carter-Williams, Indiana's Cody Zeller and Duke's Mason Plumlee all elected not to participate in Thursday's drills at the combine.
