Updating Sixers' playoff scenarios

The Sixers can clinch a playoff berth with a win Monday night at New Jersey or a Milwaukee loss at home to Toronto.

They currently sit in the eighth seed, which would mean a first-round matchup with the Chicago Bulls if the playoffs started today.

The Sixers are a half-game behind the New York Knicks for the seventh seed. The Knicks have two games remaining; the Sixers have three.

Chicago has a two-game lead over Miami for the No. 1 seed. The Bulls are at Indiana on Wednesday and host Cleveland on Thursday. Miami is at Boston on Tuesday and closes the regular season at Washington on Thursday. The Bulls' magic number to clinch the top seed is one, because they own the tiebreaker over Miami.

In a Chicago Tribune poll today, 78 percent of respondents said they would rather see the Bulls face the Sixers than the Knicks in Round 1.
