The 76ers intend to sign power forward Kris Humphries to a non-guaranteed deal, a source with inside knowledge confirmed Friday. The Vertical first reported the news.

Also Friday, the Sixers signed point guard Jacob Pullen.

Humphries was in town this week. According to The Vertical, the 6-foot-9, 235-pounder had strong workouts with the Sixers on Monday and Tuesday. It's expected that Humphries will be on hand when the Sixers begin training camp Tuesday at their practice facility in Camden.

The 14th overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft played the past two seasons for the Atlanta Hawks.  He made 56 appearances with four starts in 2016-17. He averaged 4.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 12.3 minutes. In addition to playing for the Hawks, Humphries spent time with the Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns during the 2015-17 seasons.

The 32-year-old has played on eight NBA teams during his 13-year career and will be given an opportunity to make the Sixers roster to provide insurance in the frontcourt. Center Joel Embiid (left knee) has yet to be cleared for five-on-five play.  Backup center Jahlil Okafor (right knee) is also overcoming an injury. The team is expecting to trade Okafor.

Meanwhile, Pullen will have a tough time making the roster with point guards Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz (combo), Jerryd Bayless (combo) and T.J. McConnell already on the roster.

The 27-year-old, who played at Kansas State, spent last season with Russian basketball team BC Khimki.  The Moscow-based team plays in the VTB United League and the EuroLeague. The 6-foot-1 and 200 pounder averaged 10.3 points in 17 EuroLeague matchups. He averaged 8.9 points in 23 VTB United games.

Pullen had overseas stints with Angelico Biella (Italy), Hapoel Jerusalem (Israel), Virtus Bologna (Italy), FC Barcelona (Spain), Baloncesto Sevilla (Spain), New Basket Brindisi (Italy) and KK Cedevita (Croatia) before playing for Khimki.

He is a little familiar with the Sixers, playing for the team's summer-league squad in 2012. Pullen was a shooting guard in college.
