HOUSTON –  By now, most 76ers followers realize that Jahlil Okafor is no longer in the rotation.

He could see some minutes Monday night against the Rockets if Joel Embiid (bruised right hand) is unable to play. However, the reserve center will remain out of the rotation if the franchise player is available.

Such is life these days for the third overall pick in the 2015 draft.

"Anything can change," Okafor said of his lack of playing time. "It can change at the blink of an eye. Right now, I'm not in the rotation and that's what it is."

However, he was one of the most impressive Sixers during the preseason.

A lot of that had to do with Okafor slimming down to 258 pounds after shedding 20 pounds on a vegan diet. The weight loss has enabled Okafor to be more mobile and keep up with the Sixers' up-tempo style. He has also incorporated a three-pointer into his game and improved his defense.

"I'm just healthy," said Okafor, who overcame a knee injury. "I feel great. I'm ready to play. My coaches know that. My teammates know that as well."

"So I'm just coming here keep working day-by-day and we'll see what happens."
