Sixers standouts Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid will play in Wednesday night's game against the Washington Wizards at the Wells Fargo Center

Embiid, however, will miss Thursday's game against the Boston Celtics to rest his left knee. The center has yet to be cleared to play on consecutive nights.

Meanwhile,  Simmons was listed as questionable earlier today with a sprained right ankle. He suffered the injury while landing awkwardly in the fourth quarter of Monday's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.  The injury occurred after contesting a Kyle Korver pass underneath the Cavs' basket with 5 minutes, 9 seconds remaining. Simmons fell to the court on the play. After getting up, he immediately jogged to the locker room.

Monday's X-rays were negative. The Sixers didn't have a formal practice on Tuesday. However, Simmons at was the practice facility receiving treatment on his ankle.

The Sixers (11-8) didn't have morning shootaround on Wednesday, but Simmons received more treatment in the morning. He tested his ankle during the team's closed 4:30 p.m. walk-through at the arena before determining his status.

Simmons missed Saturday's game against the Orlando Magic with a left elbow bruise.
