Injuries at the wing are mounting, which means an opportunity for the next man up.

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot will get his second start of the 2017-18 season Saturday night when the 76ers host the Milwaukee Bucks.

With JJ Redick (left fibula) already ruled out for the contest, Jerryd Bayless was added to the injury list Saturday morning with a sore left wrist — the surgically-repaired list that had Bayless sidelined last season.

With the shooting guard position continuing to take hits, the Sixers mentality is that everyone has to step up their game.

"Next guy has to step up," Robert Covington said. "Timmy is coming in and starting tonight so an opportunity has presented itself. You've got to step in and be ready."

That's exactly how Luwawu-Cabarrot sees this. It's a chance to show that he's ready to do more, gain confidence and instill confidence with his coaches and teammates.

But it won't come easy. Luwawu-Cabarrot will be tasked with guarding the Bucks' Eric Bledsoe who is averaging 17.5 points and 4.1 assists this season. So even though knocking down shots will be important, defense is key.

"I've got to play defense on Eric Bledsoe and obviously he's one of the main ball handlers on their team so I've got to show and play defense," Luwawu-Cabarrot said. "I think that will be the most important tonight."
