Galaxy salvage 1-1 draw with Fire

Chicago was already without leading scorer Marco Pappa, who is on national-team duty with Guatemala, and the Fire were forced to play with only 10 men after Gonzalo Segares was ejected in the 21st minute. But Collins John, who came on in the 83d minute, gave Chicago the lead with a free kick from 20 yards in the 87th, curling it past a diving Donovan Ricketts and just inside the far post.
