For kicks: New York comes in on short rest, but rides the wave of a three-game win streak after dispatching Houston, 1-0 Wednesday night. A string of injuries and suspensions aside, coach Hans Backe has utilized his bench to get positive results, even with the loss of goal-scoring guru Thierry Henry. Henry, who leads the team with nine goals, has missed two matches with a hamstring injury. Defender Rafa Marquez is still out with an ankle injury, after missing three matches for a suspension for kicking former Union midfielder Shea Salinas in the face. The incident occurred during RBNY's game against San Jose last month?…?Other players have stepped up for the Red Bulls — midfielder Dax McCarty and forwards Kenny Cooper and Juan Agudelo make a formidable bunch?…?Cooper, acquired in the offseason from Portland, is second on the team behind Henry, with eight goals, including the lone goal in Wednesday's game?…?Goalkeeper Ryan Meara has played well, but isn't a wall, by any means. Meara, who has played every game so far, has a 1.40 goals-against average, with only three clean sheets…Union defender Gabriel Farfan will sit out the last of his three-game suspension from a red card against Chivas, while Union boss Peter Nowak is expected to return after serving a two-match ban for an ejection against Chivas.
