David Beckham bent in a free kick in the 62d minute to help the Los Angeles Galaxy tie the Montreal Impact, 1-1, on Saturday at Montreal's Olympic Stadium in front of 60,860 fans - the largest crowd for a professional soccer game in Canada.

There was a mix of boos and cheers each time Beckham played the ball, even when he scored on one of his patented free kicks that curled inside the right post from 23 yards.

Beckham's second goal of the season came 6 minutes after he was shown the yellow card for an elbow to the face of Felipe Martins, which might have been embellished by the Brazilian.

Davy Arnaud scored for Montreal in the second minute.

Dynamo win. Brad Davis scored in the 67th minute and the Houston Dynamo beat D.C. United, 1-0, in the first game at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.

Houston played its first seven games on the road as it waited for its $95 million stadium to reach completion. The opener drew a sellout crowd of 22,039, nearly all of them clad in orange.

The Dynamo dominated the game, outshooting D.C. United, 10-1, and controlling possession throughout the second half. Houston (3-3-2) snapped a five-match winless streak, while D.C. United (5-4-3) lost for the second time in five games.

Red Bull arrested. New York Red Bulls defender Wilman Conde was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.

The 29-year-old Conde was released on his own recognizance pending a hearing in Fort Lee (N.J.) Municipal Court later this month.

According to the Fort Lee police report, the police were called to Conde's apartment at 5:30 a.m. Saturday on a noise complaint.

Conde has played in just two of the Red Bulls' 10 matches this season, due to a groin injury. He was not expected to play in Sunday's game against the Union.

German Cup. Robert Lewandowski scored a hat trick as Borussia Dortmund outclassed Bayern Munich, 5-2, in the German Cup final and claimed its first domestic double in Berlin.

It was Bundesliga champion Dortmund's fifth consecutive win over Bayern, which plays the Champions League final against Chelsea in Munich next Saturday.
