SAN JOSE, Calif. - Conor Casey scored a pair of goals late as the Union rallied to beat San Jose, 2-1, late Saturday night at Avaya Stadium. The Union also snapped the Earthquakes' four-game winning streak.

Casey entered as a substitute in the 60th minute and tied the match in the 74th.

Defender Raymon Gaddis played a diagonal cross into the box that Casey nodded past Quakes goalkeeper David Bingham.

The goal snapped San Jose's 447-minute shutout streak, the longest in MLS this season.

The Union (8-14-6, 30 points) took the lead in the 86th minute when Casey redirected Tranquillo Barnetta's free kick with a glancing header.

San Jose (11-11-5, 38 points) opened the scoring in the 64th minute after Union defender Fabinho was whistled for a handball in the box. Quakes forward Chris Wondolowski converted from the spot, sending Union keeper John McCarthy the wrong way.

San Jose's Victor Bernardez left the game in the first half with an apparent hamstring injury.

The win puts the Union just a point out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

They will return to PPL Park at 7 p.m. Saturday against the Columbus Crew.
