The U.S. women's soccer team and Canada played to a 1-1 tie Thursday night in Vancouver, B.C., before 28,017 fans at BC Place.

Alex Morgan scored the Americans' goal in the 31st minute:

Adrianna Leon equalized for Canada in the 57th, capitalizing on a scramble after a corner kick. It was a deserved reward for the home team's high-pressure attack throughout the night.

Carli Lloyd played the game's final 35 minutes as a substitute in central midfield for Samantha Mewis.

Though it wasn't a win — Canada could easily have scored a second on multiple occasions — the result extended the Americans' unbeaten streak over their northern neighbors to 32 games. Canada's last win came on March 11, 2001, at the Algarve Cup in Portugal. They've never beaten the U.S. on Canadian soil (or artificial turf, as the case was Thursday night).

The teams will play each other again on Sunday in San Jose. Calif. (9 p.m., Fox Sports 1).
