Timothy Donaghy pleads guilty
Former NBA referee Tim Donaghy pleaded guilty today to two felony charges: conspiracy to engage in wire fraud and
transmitting betting information through interstate commerce, resulting from his giving betting associates information including which crews would officiate games and how the various officials and players interacted
He was released on $250,000 bond and faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced Nov. 9. He also must pay a $500,000 fine and at least $30,000 in restitution to the government.
Donaghy, 40, graduated from Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, Delaware County and from Villanova in 1989.
