The bells toll for 200,000 COVID-19 victims

At 5 pm,, Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, Ben Cornelius of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church rang the church bells to mark the 200,000 lives lost to COVID-19 by tolling its 178-year old bells 200 times, once for every thousand lives lost. The bells were cast in 1842 by Whitechapel Foundry of London who also cast the Liberty Bell. The Church was built in 1761.
