Christ Church Burial Ground Restoration Work

Vaults in one section of the Christ Church Burial Ground, Fifth and Arch Streets in Philadelphia, were opened for the first time since being sealed so that conservators could check for damage from tree roots. The 20 large vaults, built in the early 19th century, have held up surprisingly well, although some will need to be repaired. The work will continue Tuesday.
