Luzzara Italy Today

In 1953, American photographer Paul Strand set out to capture the quintessence of everyday rural Italian life. With the assistance of Italian screenwriter Cesar Zavattini ( The Bicycle Thief ), they collaborate and produce the book “Un Paese” meaning “A Village.” In 2014, Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News staff photographer David Maialetti returns to Luzzara in search of Strand's legacy.
