It helps to have a large, roomy house when you have a large family you like to host.

And that was the exact situation Liz Rosica and Frank Dehel found themselves in when they bought their six-bedroom, three-bath Federal-style house in Cinnaminson, Burlington County, in 1992. Each of them are one of seven children, and their nephews and nieces number into the dozens.

Dehel, a partner in a large law firm, actually spotted the house while running through the neighborhood. He and Rosica were living in Fairmount but spending a lot of time in Rosica’s old hometown of Palmyra.

“An old house needs a little extra loving care,” said Rosica, adding that “the people before us took very good care of the house.”

The couple repointed the 3,827-square-foot house, put on a new roof, maintained the original hardwood floors, and raised three children there.

But now they are downsizing to a Cape Cod home about 1,000 feet away.

The house was built in 1865 by a father who wanted to give his son a wedding present, according to Dehel. The father then built a similar house about a half-mile away as a wedding present for another son.

On the first floor, the farmhouse kitchen connects the covered patio and back deck and leads into the large dining room.

The living room has a fireplace. The home also has a half-bath, a family room, and a wraparound porch.

The bedrooms are on the second and third floors, along with a laundry room.

Multiple seating areas overlook a freshly painted pool, and there is a detached two-car garage and basketball court.

There is a top-floor bonus room that can be used as a bedroom, playroom, or office.

The house is listed by Melissa Giannetto of Compass Realty for $749,000.
