House of the week: A penthouse condo in Callowhill for $337,500
The condo has large windows with views of City Hall.

Looking south out of his living room toward City Hall, David Salkin has enjoyed watching the area at the edge of Chinatown grow and change.
When Salkin, an attorney specializing in defense litigation, started looking for a permanent place to live, he was struck by how much further his money went in the Callowhill neighborhood than in other places.
And a new lighting scheme on City Hall has enhanced the view from his 10th-floor penthouse in a repurposed shoe factory.
Salkin bought the one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo three years ago, but is now moving to Pittsburgh for work.
The building dates to 1900 and his condo is 1,049 square feet.
The unit has high ceilings, exposed brick, original pillars, oversized windows, hardwood floors, and a versatile layout.
There is an open-concept kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including an induction cook top and LG refrigerator with ice maker and wine rack.
The primary suite has a ceiling fan and skylight, and the bathroom has a walk-in shower with dual shower heads, a double vanity, and access to a laundry and storage room.
Salkin says the neighborhood’s attractions are a major asset to the condo.
Union Transfer and Reading Terminal Market are within walking distance, and the Philadelphia Ballet is building a new headquarters nearby.
There is easy access to I-95, I-676, and Broad Street, and to Regional Rail lines at Suburban and Jefferson Stations.
The unit is listed by Leanne Hirsch of KW Empower for $337,500.
