The list of things that drew Danielle Siegelbaum from Westchester, N.Y., to the contemporary home in South Philadelphia is a long one.

Just to name a few: proximity to Avenue of the Arts where she could partake in music, opera, and ballet; all-day light thanks to the east-to-west windows; “a California feeling” in the home’s design; a spectacular view of Center City’s skyscrapers; and the sound of birds chirping on the patio.

Siegelbaum is an artist and illustrator who has worked for the New Yorker and Sony, designed a line of eyeglasses, and displayed her own work in galleries.

She and her then-husband bought the 3,252-square-foot house in 2018 when it had just been finished.

But now she is returning to her native Paris to continue her work while being closer to family and friends.

The three-bedroom, four-bath house is on a secluded block. The main entrance is a two-story, atrium-like space.

The kitchen has granite countertops; custom, white cabinetry; a subway tile backsplash; stainless steel appliances; and a waterfall kitchen island.

A large patio adjoins the kitchen, and there is a floating staircase with a geometric metal railing.

The primary bedroom is on the third floor, with 12-foot tray ceiling, a walk-in closet, a private terrace, and a bathroom with stone and glass finishes.

There is a third bedroom on the fourth floor, with a wet bar and access to the rooftop deck, which has panoramic views of downtown.

The finished basement is flex space that could serve as a mother-in-law suite or home office.

The home is surrounded by the restaurants and shops of the East Passyunk neighborhood.

The house is listed by Travis Rodgers of BHHS Fox & Roach at the Harper, Rittenhouse Square for $695,000.
