A furniture craftsman turns over a new leaf

Over two decades as a furniture-maker, Jack Larimore became well-known for his biomorphic forms, nature references, and intricate finish work. His highly sculptural pieces often boasted tiny metal hands for drawer handles, sat on small human feet cast in bronze, or incorporated the look of plant shoots, leaves, and root balls. But Larimore's signature style took form in the insectlike tables and cabinets he regularly fashioned with six or eight spindly legs and bulging bodies.
