Eric Ha grew up in Brooklyn apartments and had never lived in anything like a midcentury modern house. But once he saw the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Abington, he was hooked.

The style clearly echoed Frank Lloyd Wright.

Ha came to the area around 2000 for professional reasons and had been living in Northeast Philadelphia. He bought the Abington house in 2021 for himself and his girlfriend, bringing him closer to his work as senior accountant for a major energy company and also the manager of several nail salons.

He enjoyed that the home was less than a five-minute walk to the SEPTA Regional Rail station. From there, it was a half-hour train ride to Center City.

But he moved to Willow Grove in April to be closer to his work in New Jersey.

The house is set back from the road and surrounded by trees.

The first level has an open floor plan, with living and dining space and featuring a floor-to ceiling, double-sided, wood-burning fireplace.

There are two bedrooms on this level, an updated bathroom, and an eat-in kitchen with a General Electric range and dishwasher and a Hisense refrigerator.

The primary bedroom is on the upper level with tile flooring and fresh paint.

The 1,843-square-foot house was built in 1938.

It is in the Roslyn Elementary School catchment area and close to Baederwood Park, Briar Bush Nature Center, and a dog park.

There is a wraparound deck and a two-car garage in the rear, and space for two more cars on the property.

The house is listed by Amanda Hall of Keller Williams – Montgomeryville for $425,000.
