After meeting as undergraduates at Villanova University, Rachael Ferraro and Aaron Gerowitz looked to spend the early years of their marriage in what they saw as the best of both possible real estate worlds.

“We were looking for a cross between a family vibe and being a little removed from Center City,” says Gerowitz, assistant controller for a chemical company.

So in 2016, he and Ferraro, who is an investment adviser for a wealth management firm, bought a large, newly constructed three-bedroom, three-bath condo in Northern Liberties. “You have as many elements of the city as you want,” he says.

But with the arrival of their first child, priorities are shifting, and they are moving to a house in Villanova.

The bi-level condo has a spacious floor plan for the area, 2,367 square feet, with an open layout living and dining area on the first floor and a side bedroom usable as an office or guest room.

“As soon as you walk in, you’re struck by how wide the place is,” Gerowitz says.

The kitchen has dark chocolate 42-inch cabinets, Carrera marble counters, glass tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances, including a French door refrigerator.

Unusual glass handrails lead to the two other bedrooms, including a primary suite with a glass sliding door to a private balcony and a frameless, glass-enclosed shower with black dual vanity and ample storage space.

A second flight of stairs leads to a private roof deck with great views of the Center City skyline, the Ben Franklin Bridge, and the July Fourth fireworks.

There is hardwood flooring throughout, exposed ductwork, central air and heat.

The unit has five years left on the tax abatement, and the sellers have prepaid one year of parking for one car on a neighborhood lot.

The unit is listed by Christopher Somers of Keller Williams Philadelphia for $620,000.
