House of the Week: A four-bedroom in Fishtown on a wide lot for $784,000
The home has more than six years left on its tax abatement and many high-end finishes.

For William Burton, a corporate lawyer who mostly practices in Delaware, the generous outside and outdoor spaces of his Fishtown home made it too hard to resist the move to Philadelphia.
The house, built in 2021, is 2,700 square feet on a lot larger than most of the rowhouses in the area.
“Feeling there was a lot of living space was important,” Burton said.
And he liked the newness of the home, which has new Wolf appliances. More than six years remain on the home’s 10-year tax abatement, which ensures savings on property taxes.
He was also eager to sample Fishtown’s vibrant nightlife, including the Fillmore and Frankford Hall, and he liked the fact that neighborhood development was moving east toward the Delaware River.
Plus, having four bedrooms and four bathrooms could easily accommodate office and entertaining needs.
But he is now looking for a smaller place in the city so he can share a house with his fiancée in Toms River, N.J.
The first level of the Fishtown rowhouse has entry through the foyer and an office that had been a bedroom.
The second level is open concept, featuring an eat-in kitchen with a Carrara marble island, the living room with tray ceiling, and a walkout balcony ideal for grilling.
The third level has the primary bedroom with views of the neighborhood and a soaking tub in the tiled bathroom.
The fourth level has the remaining two bedrooms, each with “large windows, ample closet space, floating vanities, and sleek lighting,” according to the property’s listing. The laundry room and another bathroom are also on the fourth floor.
The fiberglass roof deck has a dry bar and wine fridge and unobstructed views of the Ben Franklin Bridge.
The house is listed by Henry Siebert of Elfant Wissahickon-Chestnut Hill for $784,000.
