On the market: A renovated townhouse in West Oak Lane for $265,000
The house has been totally renovated since 2015.
Growing up in Nicetown, Sherri Tarpley remembers her mother frequently driving through West Oak Lane and thinking, “Once I grow up and live on my own, I want to live in that area.”
In 2010 she was able to do that, buying what was then a three-bedroom, one-bath home for herself and her son.
When she had a second and third child, however, she saw that the home was too small, so she is moving to a larger home in Delaware that is still an easy commute to her hospital administration job in the city.
She leaves behind a home with a very different interior.
Following a fire in 2015, she did a complete renovation, including her personal redesign of the kitchen and the addition of a second bathroom.
“I was able to completely fix it up the way I wanted,” Tarpley said. “I moved the staircase, turned the garage into a laundry room.”
The house has recessed lighting and hardwood flooring. The living room has a stone accent wall and fireplace.
The kitchen has 24-inch cabinetry, granite countertops, ceramic flooring, glass tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances, and a breakfast area with counter-height stools.
The fully finished basement, suitable for a playroom or family room, has a full bath, stone accent wall and fireplace. The laundry room is adjacent to it. Currently, it is used as a den.
The upstairs bedrooms have updated features including a black granite vanity in the bath, along with ceramic tile floor, tile shower, and skylight.
Upgrades include new windows throughout and a new furnace/central AC unit.
Total square footage is 1,358.
The house is listed by Sharonda Gamble of Keller Williams Philadelphia for $265,000.
