COVID-19 has, of course, driven many people to work at home, and some plan to stick with it.

In cases such as that of Yena and Steve Steidle, working at home has become so permanent that they are moving.

Yena, a telecom consultant, and Steve, a software engineering manager for an insurance company, aren’t thinking of leaving Fishtown, though.

They fell in love with the Philadelphia neighborhood when they moved in from Conshohocken to rent there while Yena was getting her MBA at Temple University.

Steve says they liked the food and bar scene and the proximity to the El, Center City and his work.

“We loved it so much we knew we had to find a place here,” Yena says.

So in 2018, they settled on a four-bedroom, 3½-bath rowhouse on a leafy, residential block with high ceilings, an oversized transom, open stairs, and flexibility for different living arrangements.

But now, with two small children, as well as a work-from-home lifestyle, they are looking for something larger in the neighborhood.

Their current, 2,400-square-foot house was built in 2008.

The kitchen is open to the rest of the first floor and has a large island and stainless-steel appliances.

The private patio has room for a grill, dining set and herb garden.

The second floor has two bedrooms, and the third has the primary suite, including a sheltered balcony. The bathroom there has a soaking tub, separate shower, and double vanity.

The finished basement has a fourth bedroom, another full bathroom, and a laundry area.

The space is perfect for a home office, playroom, fitness zone or guest suite.

For families with children, Konrad Square Park, Hackett Playground, and Fishtown Rec are close by.

The house is listed by Rachel Shaw of Philly Home Girls at Elfant Wissahickon Realtors Fishtown for $550,000.
