On the market: A modern rowhouse near the Italian Market for $607,000

“I loved the Italian Market, great restaurants, people out and about on a sunny day doing their shopping or enjoying the cafes, but quiet at night,” says the owner, who is relocating for a new job.

The kitchen has high-gloss, white cabinets and drawers, stainless steel appliances, a tiled back splash, breakfast bar, and deep sink. But if you don't feel like cooking, lots of restaurants are within walking distance.

While Chuck Haven liked his rental on Washington Square West, the personality of the Italian Market area sold him on that neighborhood in 2018 when it came time to buy.

“I loved the Italian Market, great restaurants, people out and about on a sunny day doing their shopping or enjoying the cafes, but quiet at night,” says Haven, a lawyer who is in-house counsel for a global company. “And the house had been thoughtfully renovated top to bottom.”

But with a job transfer late last year to Connecticut, he is selling the three-bedroom, 2½-bath rowhouse in Bella Vista.

The open layout features polished hardwood floors and recessed lighting.

The kitchen has high-gloss, white cabinets and drawers, stainless steel appliances, a tiled back splash, breakfast bar, and deep sink.

A glass sliding door leads to an enclosed outdoor patio, and the half bath is on the first floor.

The main bedroom suite is on the second floor — the stairwell has an ornate, carved steel railing — and includes a large walk-in closet. The master bath has a free-standing tub, double vanity, and exposed brick.

The third floor has the other two bedrooms and the second full bath. All the bedrooms have good natural light.

There is storage space in the basement.

In addition to the Italian Market, the house is close to numerous restaurants and boutique grocers, and just blocks from Passyunk Square and Center City.

The 1,620-square-foot house was built in 1920.

It is listed by Vincent Mancini of Compass Pennsylvania for $607,000.
