On the market: A three-bedroom townhouse in Brewerytown for $465,000
The townhouse offers proximity to the Art Museum, Fairmount Park, and the Girard Avenue commercial area, as well as a neighborhood feel.
Sade Hinton-Morris grew up in the Nicetown-Tioga section of Philadelphia, but when she was getting ready to move back to Philadelphia from Washington, D.C., in 2020, “I’d never even heard of Brewerytown.”
Personal and family connections led her to the three-bedroom, two-bath townhouse there.
She knew she wanted to be close to her mother, who lives in Mantua, and a sorority sister from South Carolina State University introduced her to Realtor Ife Foy, who mapped out about a half-dozen possibilities.
Her father came in from out of state to join her mother on the tour, and they picked the last one, a 1920 house that had been heavily rehabbed with the addition of a third floor and a roof deck.
“When I make up my mind, it happens quickly,” says Hinton-Morris, a CPA.
She has enjoyed her proximity to the Art Museum, Fairmount Park, and the Girard Avenue commercial area, as well as the neighborhood feel, but she’s now moving to East Mount Airy for more space.
The Brewerytown house has a modern facade, hardwood floors, and a well-lit living/dining area combination.

The kitchen looks out on the rear fenced-in patio.
There are two bedrooms on the second floor, and the bathroom has custom light-up drawers, a double vanity sink with backsplash, and a tub-shower with sliding glass doors.
The primary suite is on the third floor and has ample natural light.
The basement is finished with tile flooring, and while Hinton-Morris has been using it as a home gym, it could easily be converted to other uses.
Total square footage is 1,825.
The house is listed by Ife Foy of Keller Williams Philly for $465,000.
