A day after 76ers coach Brett Brown made an impassioned case for Joel Embiid and his superstar’s growth following the Game 7 loss to the Raptors, Embiid responded in kind.

“I was off social media. ... I heard about all those rumors and stuff and I just thought it was bull—.

“He’s done a fantastic job. He’s been there through everything,” Embiid continued.

Jimmy Butler, facing pending free agency, also had kind words to say about the coach for whom he’s played for just six months.

“He has a huge heart. He’s a great dude, and he works incredibly hard,” he said. “I think he’s going to be here for a long time."

The Sixers are speaking to the media in their annual postmortem after Sunday’s last-second loss at the hands of Kawhi Leonard.
