Dominick Barlow sprains ankle in Sixers’ win at Utah Jazz
Barlow’s ankle sprain adds to a growing injury list for the Sixers, who are already without starters Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Paul George (suspension).

SALT LAKE CITY — Dominick Barlow left the 76ers’ game at the Utah Jazz on Saturday night with a left ankle sprain.
Coach Nick Nurse said after the game that he had no additional information about the severity of the injury, other than that X-rays were negative. Barlow walked out of the Sixers’ locker room after the game wearing slippers and with no visible protection on the ankle.
Barlow sustained the injury when he tripped while driving with the ball in the first quarter. He went to the floor, attempted to get back on defense, and then gingerly walked off the court and to the Sixers’ locker room.
Barlow’s ankle sprain adds to a growing injury list for the Sixers, who are already without starters Tyrese Maxey (pinkie tendon sprain), Joel Embiid (oblique strain), Kelly Oubre Jr. (elbow sprain), and Paul George (suspension).
Barlow has been a feel-good story for the Sixers this season, ascending from a late offseason addition on a two-way contract to starting forward. He entered Saturday averaging 8.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 59 games.
The Sixers (39-32) beat the Jazz, 126-116, to move up from ninth to seventh place in the Eastern Conference. They have the same record as the sixth-place Atlanta Hawks, who hold the tiebreaker over the Sixers. Both teams are one game back of the fifth-place Toronto Raptors (39-30), a half-game ahead of the eighth-place Orlando Magic (38-32), and one game ahead of the ninth-place Miami Heat (38-33).
The Sixers next host the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday (7 p.m., NBCSP).
