In addition to NBA MVP, you can also add the title of media owner and executive producer to Joel Embiid’s resumé.

The Sixers center has teamed up with The SpringHill Company, the media company started by Maverick Carter and LeBron James to create Miniature Géant, which will look to tell the inspiring stories of people from around the world who “have taken nontraditional paths to success buoyed by a sense of determination and belief,” according to a release.

Embiid’s media house already has a number of projects in the works, including a documentary chronicling Embiid’s upbringing in Cameroon and rise to NBA MVP.

Another will be a film adaptation of Sebastian Abbot’s nonfiction novel, The Away Game: The Epic Search for Soccer’s Next Superstars which follows a group of 13-year-old boys who were scouted from local African soccer clubs to play for a high-level soccer academy. Both films are said to be executive produced by Embiid and Carter’s SpringHill Company acting as parent.

“I came to America when I was 16 years old, just three months after I picked up a basketball,” Embiid said via a statement. “There’s no way I could have gotten to where I am today without the grit and hard work fans see every day on the court. I’ve often said my life is like a movie, and now I am fortunate enough to be in a position to create the stories that I know will resonate with kids around the world and encourage them to dream big. I could not think of a better partner than The SpringHill Company and can’t wait for our stories to be out there.”

The news is a continuation of a monster year for Embiid, who wrapped up MVP honors for the first time in his career after leading the Sixers to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Embiid and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts were nominated for an ESPY Award earlier this week, with Embiid up for best NBA player.
