OKLAHOMA CITY — The 76ers will sign Anthony Tolliver to a 10-day contract in the coming days.

Doc Rivers was asked before Saturdy night’s game when can people expect Tolliver to get some minutes.

“I don’t know about minutes unless you want me to bench Tobias [Harris] or somebody like that,” Rivers said. “You know, [he’s] just joining the team, hopefully soon, I don’t even know that answer. Maybe in Dallas. If not, probably right when we return home from them.”

A source said the team expects the power forward to sign in a few days. The Sixers’ next game is against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday at American Airlines Center. After that, they’ll have the Brookyn Nets on Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Center.

“You know, he’s a veteran, can shoot the ball,” Rivers said. “He’s been around the block, which I think this team needs. So I think he can help in that regard.”

The 35-year-old could provide depth in the frontcourt if things pan out. The power forward has played for a combined 10 teams over 12 seasons in the NBA. He has career averages of 6.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in 719 games with 109 starts.

Tolliver split time last season between the Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, and Portland Trail Blazers. He’s a lot like Mike Scott in regards to being a power forward who can stretch the floor by knocking down three-pointers.

Tolliver shot 41.5% on threes in 13 games with the Grizzlies last season. He’s a 37.3% three-point shooter for his career. However, he has struggled on the defensive end in recent years.

The Sixers headed into Saturday’s contest one game behind the first-place Nets in the Eastern Conference standings. Saturday’s game in OKC was a makeup contest for a game that was originally scheduled on Jan. 17. It was postponed because the Sixers didn’t have enough available players due to contact tracing.
