On Nov. 15, 2017 Joel Embiid scored 46 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, dished out seven assists, and racked up seven blocks in a 115-109 win over the Lakers in Los Angeles.

On Tuesday the 76ers will be in L.A. for their annual West Coast bout against the Lakers, and Embiid has been looking forward to the rematch.

“Last year when I was there, that was a special night for me,” he said of his 46-point performance.

Lets take a trip down memory lane and look at some highlights from Embiid’s career night.

Right from the jump Embiid had the hot hand and showed his range hitting from everywhere on the floor. He finished the night not only with a monster statline but did it efficiently, shooting 14-of-20 overall, 2-of-3 from three-point range, and 16-of-19 from the free throw line.

It wasn’t just his scoring, Embiid took advantage of every double team thrown at him, using those moments to become a distributor, and made it look easy.

Then, of course, there were the seven blocks. Each one could be a featured highlight, but here’s one that was not only impressive because Embiid keeps the ball in play and leads the break, but was also against Corey Brewer, who is now Embiid’s teammate.

It’s important to remember that this was just Embiid’s 43rd NBA game and at that point people were still questioning not only if he could perform consistently and if his body would hold up, but also whether the Sixers would be able to contend for a playoff spot.

Of course, we all know that the Sixers finished with 52 wins and became must see TV during the playoffs, and that Embiid is now in the MVP conversation.

Last year, on a nationally broadcasted game, Embiid put the league on notice having one of the best games of his young career.
