Sixers’ Jimmy Butler suffers game-ending groin strain
It was obvious that something was wrong with Butler late in the first quarter. He grimaced while touching the left side of his torso during a break.

Jimmy Butler suffered a game-ending groin strain in Monday night’s contest against the Detroit Pistons at the Wells Fargo Center.
The 76ers swingman left the game with 2 minutes, 20 seconds left in the first quarter and didn’t return. The four-time All-Star had four rebounds and two assists in 9:40 of action. He failed to score while missing all three of his shots.
It was obvious that something was wrong with Butler late in the first quarter. He grimaced while touching the left side of his torso during a break.
Butler had scored 38 points in each of the last two games. He entered the contest averaging 21.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists and a league second-best 2.18 steals.
The Sixers acquired Butler and Justin Patton from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless and a future second-round pick.
