VJ Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey are entering the NBA postseason in “VJ Maxx” style.

The Sixers backcourt duo, known by their nickname this season, announced a new brand partnership with retailer TJ Maxx on Monday.

Edgecombe and Maxey released a new photo shoot in a joint Instagram advertisement with TJ Maxx and SLAM magazine’s fashion page, LeagueFits.

Edgecombe sported a blue TJ Maxx cardigan over a dress shirt and tie in the locker room following Sunday’s 126-106 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, which closed out the regular season.

Edgecombe and Maxey have become a powerful pair on the court for the Sixers since Edgecombe joined as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. While it is uncertain whether Maxey, who was out with a finger injury last month, will be at full strength to open the postseason on Wednesday against the Orlando Magic in the Play-In Tournament, Edgecombe has become a key player as a 20-year-old rookie.

Fans have circulated a variety of nicknames to describe Edgecombe and Maxey, but “VJ Maxx” has become the most popular over the past few months. The duo frequently reference it during joint interviews.

Edgecombe has also become known as “The Generator” since he was drafted by the Sixers. The nickname originated from Edgecombe’s emotional draft night speech, in which he referenced his family’s dependence on a generator for electricity for seven years while growing up in the Bahamas. It became a symbol of Edgecombe’s mental toughness and high energy on the court.
