Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Bayern Munich

Saturday, 9:30 a.m. (ESPN+)

For a brief moment Monday, there was a flickering ember of a Bundesliga title race. As a snowstorm pounded Bayern’s stadium, lowly Arminia Bielefeld held leads of 2-0 and 3-1. Bayern rallied to tie the game at 3-3, then Bielefeld had a potential winner narrowly ruled out for offside on a video review.

So the reigning champions’ lead stands at five points instead of four over Leipzig heading into the weekend, which is probably big enough to hold on to. Eintracht, meanwhile, has quietly risen to third and is aiming for its first Champions League berth since 2007. Can André Silva, with 19 goals in 22 games this season, keep the momentum going?

Liverpool vs. Everton

Saturday, 12:30 p.m. (NBC, Universo)

Liverpool got some badly needed good momentum on Tuesday by beating RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Now the Reds’ focus turns back to the Premier League, where they’re in sixth place and Everton is three points back in seventh. Liverpool’s goal difference is big enough that an Everton win won’t change the standings, but this is another statement game for Sadio Mané and company.

Schalke 04 vs. Borussia Dortmund

Saturday, 12:30 p.m. (ESPN+)

Dortmund’s 3-2 win over Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday was the first time in a while we’ve seen Erling Haaland and company play with that much fire. If it can be sustained, Dortmund might be able to rally in the Bundesliga standings. Playing Schalke should help: though this is one of Germany’s biggest rivalries, Schalke is nailed to last place with just nine points from 21 games.

Mexico vs. Costa Rica

Saturday, 1:55 p.m. (TUDN)

New Mexican women’s national team women’s head coach Monica Vergara’s first game in charge is La Tri Femenil’s first game at the legendary Estadio Azteca in 14 years. The squad has four players from American colleges, and a very good forward in Tigres’ Katty Martínez whom NWSL scouts should be watching.

Costa Rica’s roster includes OL Reign’s Shirley Cruz and Florida State product Gloriana Villalobos, now of Herediano in her home country.

France vs. Switzerland

Saturday, 3 p.m. (beIN Sports Connect)

While the U.S. is hosting the SheBelieves Cup, France was supposed to be hosting its own mini-tournament with Switzerland, Iceland and Norway. But Iceland and Norway pulled out due to COVID-19 considerations, leaving France and Switzerland to play two friendlies in the next few days.

France has a lot of its stars, such as Delphine Cascarino and Wendie Renard. Keep an eye on two promising 20-year-olds, Sandy Baltimore and Melvine Malard. Baltimore is trying to help Paris Saint-Germain dethrone Lyon from the top of the French women’s league; Malard is one of Lyon’s top young prospects.

Milan vs. Inter

Sunday, 9 a.m. (ESPN+)

Circle this matchup in bright ink, and make it red or blue depending on what side of this legendary rivalry you’re on. It’s the biggest Derby della Madonnina game in some time, with Inter having jumped over Milan in the standings and into first place last weekend. Romelu Lukaku and the nerazzuri lead Zlatan Ibrahimović and the rossoneri by one point.

Arsenal vs. Manchester City

Sunday, 11:30 a.m. (Peacock)

It’s classic Arsenal that the Gunners raced out to a 4-0 lead over Leeds last Sunday, got scored on twice, and left their fans convinced their team would throw the whole thing away. Arsenal held on for a 4-2 win, but even with that it’s still stuck in 10th place in the Premier League. Manchester City, meanwhile, is on a 17-game winning streak across all competitions.

Paris Saint-Germain vs. Monaco

Sunday, 3 p.m. (beIN Sports)

After firing Paris Saint-Germain to a Champions League win over Barcelona with a superb hat trick, Kylian Mbappé now tries to fire his club to a Ligue 1 win over his old team. PSG is still in second place in the league, trailing Lille by one pont.

United States vs. Brazil

Sunday, 3 p.m. (FS1, TUDN)

It’s not quite a rivalry, but there are almost always fireworks when the U.S. women meet Brazil. You’d expect nothing less when Marta and Debinha line up against Rose Lavelle, Alex Morgan and the rest of the Americans’ stars. This time, the teams meet in Marta’s American home town, as she plays her club soccer for the NWSL’s Orlando Pride.

New U.S. star Catarina Macario might also get her first chance to play against the country where she was born, and emigrated from to San Diego a decade ago.

Argentina vs. Canada

Sunday, 6 p.m. (FS1, TUDN.com)

Argentina lost thoroughly to Brazil, 4-1, in Thursday’s first round of SheBelieves Cup games. But if you watched, you saw promising signs from Lorena Benítez and Kansas City’s Marianna Larroquette, who scored her team’s goal. Canada gave a terrific effort in its 1-0 loss to the United States, but lost goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan to a bad-looking non-contact injury during the first half.
