Luxembourg vs. Portugal

Tuesday, 2:45 p.m. (ESPN+)

Both of these teams were involved in surprising World Cup qualifying results on Saturday. Luxembourg, featuring New York City FC defender Maxime Chanot, scored a 1-0 upset win at the Republic of Ireland. Portugal played the Czech Republic to a 2-2 tie and had a potential stoppage-time-winning goal by Cristiano Ronaldo incorrectly ruled out. The ball crossed the line, but the officials didn’t see it and there was no video replay used in the contest.

Mozambique vs. Cape Verde

Tuesday, 3 p.m. (beIN Sports Xtra)

Here’s a chance to watch Union midfielder Jamiro Monteiro play for his country, Cape Verde. A win would qualify the Blue Sharks for the next Africa Cup of Nations, which will be played in January 2022. It would be Cape Verde’s first appearance in the tournament since 2015.

Monteiro and company got to this position with a 3-1 statement win over group power Cameroon. Monteiro didn’t play in that game, but Union right back Olivier Mbaizo got all 90 minutes for the Indomitable Lions, which have already qualified.

Note that beIN Sports has been gradually expanding the availability of beIN Sports Xtra. It’s now on a few subscription streaming platforms including fuboTV. You can also watch if you have a Roku via the Roku Channel, or over the air in Philadelphia via channel 8.4. Click here for more details on where you can find the channel.

England vs. Poland

Wednesday, 2:45 p.m. (ESPN2)

England has enjoyed a perfect start to World Cup qualifying, with easy wins over lowly San Marino (5-0) and Albania (2-0). The Three Lions should make it three wins in a row here, especially with Poland’s star striker Robert Lewandowski out due to a knee injury.

UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinals

The second legs of the four quarterfinal series are scheduled for this week. As has long been the case with the women’s Champions League, broadcast rights for each game are held by the home team, which means it can be hard to find and watch the action. That will finally change next season when UEFA centralizes broadcast rights for the bulk of the tournament.

The good news is that Atalanta Football picked up the best game of the four: Wolfsburg vs. Chelsea, Wednesday at 8 a.m. Chelsea holds a 2-1 lead going into Wolfsburg’s home leg, though as with the first game it’s being played in Hungary due to coronavirus-enforced travel restrictions.

Manchester City hosts Barcelona with Barcelona leading 3-0 (Wednesday, 11 a.m.), with a live stream on City’s website behind a subscription paywall. Rosengård hosts Bayern Munich with Bayern leading 3-0 (Thursday, 1 p.m.), with no broadcast details known yet.

The fourth quarterfinal, Lyon vs. Paris Saint-Germain (with Lyon leading 1-0), was postponed becayse Lyon is facing a major COVID-19 outbreak. Star players Griedge Mbock (who was already injured), Delphine Cascarino, Amel Majri and Wendie Renard have tested positive. They’re also going to miss the much-anticipated U.S.-France game on April 13.
