The Union learned that they’ll play the New England Revolution in the MLS Is Back Tournament’s round of 16 on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. (ESPN2, ESPN Deportes) after Tuesday’s games settled the Group C final standings.

Here’s a look at Tuesday’s results.

Montreal Impact 1, D.C. United 0

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Saphir Taider’s goal off a deflection in the 31st minute gave the Montreal Impact a 1-0 victory over D.C. United on Tuesday night in the final Group C match of the MLS is Back tournament.

Clement Diop stopped three shots, including two saves with his feet, for his first shutout of the season.

The win gives the Impact a chance to advance as one of the four wild-card teams, while United were eliminated with a loss and two draws. Montreal has three points (one win, two losses) and a minus-one goal differential. It is one of five squads with three points, but it has a better goal differential than two other teams.

Toronto FC and New England each have five points, but Toronto wins the group on the basis of more goals scored. New England will face Philadelphia in the round of 16 on Saturday, while Toronto will face one of the wild card teams on Sunday.

There are six more group stage matches left to play to determine the rest of the field.

Taider scored his third goal in the past two games with a rocket off his right foot from 34 yards out. The shot deflected off the right foot of DC's Frederic Brillant and changed direction, catching goalkeeper Bill Hamid flat footed.

Montreal had a chance to double its lead in the 68th minute, but Maximiliano Urruti’s shot hit the left post.

Columbus Crew 1, Atlanta United 0

Youness Mokhtar’s goal in the 18th minute gave the Columbus Crew a 1-0 victory over Atlanta United on Tuesday night in the MLS is Back tournament.

The Crew clinched the top spot in Group E and are the first team in the World Cup-style tournament to win all three of their group matches and not surrender a goal. Columbus opened tournament play with a 4-0 victory over Cincinnati FC and followed that up with a 2-0 win over the New York Red Bulls.

Columbus will face either Real Salt Lake, Sporting KC or Minnesota United on July 28 in the round of 16.

Atlanta, which won the league two years ago and advanced to the Eastern Conference final last season, lost all three of their matches 1-0. They are the only squad in the 24-team tournament that didn't score a goal.

It is the first time in Atlanta United's 3-year history they have been shutout in three straight games. They have not scored in 305 minutes of regulation time in MLS games.

"There's no magic answer. We have to have some real conversations because this isn't something that just happens. Three games, six halves and we showed up for the last half," Atlanta goalkeeper Brad Guzan said. "The second half was better but nearly good enough for what we stand for. We have to get back to work because this is not even close to being good enough."

Milton Valenzuela set up Mokhtar's goal with a pass from the left side of the box to the center. He got off a shot despite being surrounded by three Atlanta defenders. Miles Robinson appeared to deflect the shot with his foot as goalkeeper Brad Guzan mistimed his dive and it went into the net.

It is the midfielder's second goal of the season and the tournament. He went off in the 44th minute after being injured. Columbus coach Caleb Porter said Mokhtar had a muscle strain in his right leg and would be limited for the next game.

Atlanta United had two good scoring chances in the final 5 minutes but could not convert. Gonzalo Martínez's free kick from just outside box went wide right in the 88th minute. A minute later, Anton Walkes' shot from the left side of the box couldn't find the far corner.

Columbus goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell had a clean sheet in his first Crew start. Tarbell was acquired in a trade with San Jose before the season started.

Atlanta United wore armbands honoring longtime congressman and civil rights hero John Lewis, who died Friday at age 80 of pancreatic cancer. The black armbands had the letters "J.L" written in white.

Toronto FC 0, New England Revolution 0

Matt Turner made five saves, including a key stop on Ayo Akinola late in the second half, and the New England Revolution and Toronto FC played to a 0-0 draw in the MLS is Back tournament on Tuesday.

The draw ensured both sides will advance to the knockout stage of the tournament. Both New England and Toronto finished with five points in Group C, but Toronto has the advantage on goal differential.

The final placement of the teams from the group will be determined after D.C. United plays Montreal later Tuesday.

Turner's key stop on Akinola was part of an eventful final 20 minutes to the match. New England nearly got a late penalty after Gustavo Bou appeared to be tripped in the penalty area by Michael Bradley but referee Jair Marrufo ruled there was no foul.

Toronto also thought it had a penalty after Akinola was fouled, but video review ruled the foul took place outside the penalty area.

Toronto goalkeeper Alex Bono only made two saves, but made a big stop on New England's Adam Buksa early in the second half on the best scoring chance for the Revolution.

Jozy Altidore made his first appearance for Toronto in the tournament coming on in the 86th minute. New England was without designated player Carles Gil, who was wearing a walking boot while on the Revolution bench.
