Wed. Pa. girls and boys: Marple Newtown ekes out win

The Tigers outscored Penncrest, 21-12, in the fourth quarter and overtime. Rylee Power had 22 points, and Carley Hamilton scored 18.

In other Central League action, Megan Fowler's 14 points led visiting Haverford High past Lower Merion, 38-23.

Public. Tiana Garvin scored 12 of her 22 points in the fourth quarter, and Bodine erased a nine-point deficit to drop visiting Freire Charter, 70-68, in overtime. Asazina Cooper added eight points and 14 rebounds.

Nonleague. Penn Charter opened the game with a 9-0 run and the visitors never looked back en route to topping Shipley, 55-51. Ayanna Matthews had a game-high 19 points.

Erin Brokans recorded five steals and nine rebounds to push host Lansdale Catholic past Abington Friends, 49-43.

Boys' Basketball

Ryan Clancy knocked down three three-pointers en route to a team-high 15 points, and host Haverford High toppled Lower Merion, 60-57, in Central League play.

Brian Allen's 17 points led Springfield (Delco) past host Garnet Valley, 47-43.

Nonleague. Chris Clover scored a game-high 18 points to pace St. Joseph's Prep past host Malvern Prep, 63-36. He shot 7 for 8 from the foul line. Senior Kyle Thompson added 13 points and six rebounds.

Senior point guard Jakwan Jones dished out nine assists and recorded four steals as host Imhotep Charter cruised past Sankofa Freedom, 88-57. Sean Lloyd scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Junior small forward Jahmil Harris pulled down 14 rebounds to go along with six assists and five steals in West Catholic's 63-45 home win over Mastery Charter North.

Ernest Aflakpui's 26 points and 14 rebounds led Archbishop Carroll over visiting Plymouth Whitemarsh, 77-51. Derrick Jones had 12 points and five rebounds. Austin Tilghman had five assists.
