Meet Sheldon, the shop cat at Philadelphia Argentine Tango School

The Philadelphia Argentine Tango School’s cat Sheldon is already somewhat used to fame.
Before owner Meredith Klein rescued him from Palmer Park in 2017, Sheldon would canvass Fishtown on a route schedule to score multiple dinners. And in 2023, renowned tango pianist Emiliano Messiez released “Sheldoneando” a three-part tango inspired by the cat’s double life as a dance teaching assistant and ex-adventurer. Lately, according to Klein, strangers have begun to greet him by name.
“He’s much more human and more aware than other cats,” said Klein. “He likes being the center of attention.”
